Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are…
Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect Tomorrow.
One day I shall dig my nails into the earth,
or bury my face in my pillow,
or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky
and want, more than all the world, your return.

365 Project Week 8

February 25, 2010

This is love.

This is 26 years.

Mark uses the laptop some, but honestly it's just because it's there. He's fine without it.
But, he knows I love it. He knows it's relaxation for me. He knows it's fun for me.

So...
he has spent hours this week trying to fix the laptop.

Shhh, for the moment (Friday night), he's got it up and running.

It's shaky. It's definitely on last legs, but...

he did it.

Not for himself,

but for me.

That is love.

Who knew doing the dishes could be so much fun?

In case I haven't mentioned it, we're all really going to miss her next year.

I'm a bad mother.
We have a little table and chairs in our living room.
Jacob and Julianna use it as a craft table, a play table, a homework table, and,
(here's the bad mother part), as a dining table. They eat breakfast there together every morning, and if there's a day off school, or in the summer time, they eat lunch there too. The bad mother part? They watch tv or a video while they eat.

Not the best parenting perhaps, but they sure do enjoy it. :)

After much nagging and pleading, Julianna finally motivates me to dig out our old electric typewriter. It's every bit as much as she thought it would be.

It's interesting, when she makes a mistake, she's able to shrug it off and fix it later with a pencil--Jacob started off really interested in the typewriter, but he could not handle the inevitable mistakes that he couldn't immediately fix.

Speaks volumes about their personalities.

A very serious bride. :)

February 20, 2010
I like this picture because it's one of the few I've ever seen where Jacob and Julianna look like siblings. Julianna and Rebekah look a bit alike, Jason and Rebekah look a lot alike, but I think this one captures a certain something about these two.

I just realized I posted this entire entry in backward chronological order.

Oops.

The week I've had with this computer, I'm cutting my losses and leaving it.

I know you'll understand. :)

What a good guy to fix your laptop! I'd be lost with out my computer.

Cute shots of your kids too! Oh, and dishes are never fun. :)

Great pictures! I love how much he is concentrating, working so hard on the computer for you :)
And if you are a bad mom, I am a bad mom too. My kids have a picnic breakfast pretty much every morning while watching a show.. a nice way to ease into the morning, since my oldest just has afternoon preschool.

Well, I won't tell anyone it's backwards.

I see that Purdue shirt -- I used to live in Lafayette.

These are terrific shots from life this week -- the bride is my favorite (they just can't wait, can they? :)

I think it's sweet that the two enjoy eating at the little table and watching Tv - obviously you have a tight family, so what is the harm I say?! Yes, for sure you're gonna miss your girl when she goes to school, but you'll enjoy watching her blossom and grow too...Thanks for your words of encouragement on my Blog. I appreciate the support!

This is my favorite 365 week of yours so far. Especially that he (for now) fixed the laptop for you: what a sweetheart. :)

I know how you feel about your laptop!
The kids doing the dishes shot is great..... you have to take those to prove that can actually get along! (at least that is why I take that kind of picture!) :D

I can't imagine not having a laptop anymore. Very sweet that he's fixing it for you. Great pictures this week. And I don't think you're a bad mom at all for that. Ooooh and you have Garfield mugs! I had those when we were little. Wonder what ever happened to them. I LOVED them! Love the brother and sister shot. Siblings for sure in that one!

Mark fixed your laptop... Oh he is a keeper!

I saw the Purdue shirt too - my dad went there. Did I tell you that my entire family grew up in SB, Indiana? Fun factoid. :)

Great photos - especially the typewriter one... wow, it's been ages since I've seen one of those things. :)

I just love this project you're doing. I have the laptop love too-it's a part of my anatomy, really.

The photo of J and J is just adorable.

PS: What kind of camera do you have? I'm thinking of upgrading.

Great husband! Hope it lasts for a while. (the computer. Not the marriage. Hope that THAT lasts forever... YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.)

I think J&J look like twins in that picture!
