Funny story.
Okay, not really. Or maybe, if you like to be poor.
Someone opened a door into Rebekah's toe last Friday night.
By Sunday, she was elevating it all day and complaining about how much it hurt.
I was worried it was broken.
She was going on and on about how much it hurt.
If it had been a little toe I wouldn't have worried so much, but I thought a big toe was cause for alarm.
Finally, after hearing about it a lot, I took her to Urgent Care. Not a decision I made lightly. Just to walk into Urgent Care for us is $300.00, plus the x-rays. Still, again, I thought it was a big deal to break your big toe.
So...
they're taking her vitals. They ask her to rate her pain on a scale of 1 to 10.
The pain she had complained about all. day. long.
She said a 2.
A two.
I seriously wanted to leave right then and there.
(Or step on her toe.)
*sigh*
So...
They come. They x-ray her toe.
We wait an hour.
The doctor comes in and tells us...
wait for it...
they don't do anything for a broken toe OR a broken foot.
Learn from me people.
Her toe is not broken. Good news, I know.
$700.00 later though there's a little piece of me that would have felt better if it was.
Yes, I mean that.

Oh my gosh. Poor baby. Her foot looks so painful! That is terrible! I am glad you had a great week besides that poor toe : )
Ack. We've had a few ER visits like that. You don't know if you should be relieved they're ok, or steaming mad because of the insanity, worry and cost.
Kids.
I've sprained a toe before and gone in for x-rays. It looked very similar. I feel for her and you!
Love the perspective shot. :)
Your pictures are just getting better and better -- I absolutely love that first shot -- and the toe (and I feel your pain -- no pun intended :)
And the perspective on the tree is terrific.
I have no help for you with Photoshop Elements. I have Lightroom, which is very easy to use, but I've always found Photoshop's other programs not to be very user friendly (I'm kind of stupid that way...)
Oh OUCHIE on the toe, but oh I bet those brownies made it feel better, it would make mine feel better at least!
And I love your tree shot! Just beautiful!
Oh, ouch on the toe!! and DOUBLE ouch on the bill!! I'm sorry you had top go through all of that.
So what's up with Elements (other than I don't know how you would find the time to even shoot pictures much less work on them)? Can I help? I actually find myself clicking on my Elements more than I do Photoshop because I usually only have a couple of minutes and need to hurry. Maybe we could skype you through it?
Don't gove up! I'm betting it's just a time issue to get acquainted with it.
photoshop tips: It's really really hard. Spend countless hours playing with it, ignore your laundry, dishes, dirty floors & then after a few months it begins to make sense. (wish I was joking) :)
Pictures look good! Love the hearts on your tree! Where did you find those?
I had a toe like that once, very painful. Took one of my kids in for their toe last summer. Same kid has another toe issue this week. Nope, sorry, no trip to dr for you. I learned too.
Great perspective shot!
Ouch on the toe! :( That looks seriously painful! :(
The toe does look painful, but if you had only asked, I could have told you they wouldn't do anything.... just tape maybe, if you're lucky. I love your action pick up sticks shot!
gosh her toe looks so painful. i broke my foot and can sympathize with the pain.
where's the recipe for the caramel brownies? they look so yummy.
So, let me get this straight...they tell you AFTER they order the x-ray that they don't DO anything for a broken toe? How about, "We will be happy to give her an x-ray, but please know before we put you through the extra time drain, costs and you get your hopes up that we are here to help..umm, we don't actually DO ANYTHING if it IS indeed broken? Whaddya say? Still want that x-ray? No? Really? Hmmmm, ok. Sheesh.
