So, crazy weekend ahead. Rebekah has a friend from OU coming Friday afternoon for the weekend. J&J are playing in a piano recital Friday night (Tacos for dinner). Saturday morning is Sunday School program rehearsal (sandwiches for lunch). Saturday afternoon more friends from OU are coming. Saturday night 16 people here for Hanukkah dinner, and they're staying the night. Sunday morning church & Sunday school and the friends leave for home. Sunday afternoon big dinner, served early, around 12:30 (Lasagna, salad, bread) before Sunday school program. Sunday late afternoon Sunday school program followed by cookies, over around 5:30? Sunday dinner, not a clue. Needs to be quick and easy to make, or make ahead, not too filling. One of Rebekah's friends will still be here, so that leaves out the cereal/potluck I would normally rely on in a situation like this. I am fresh out of inspiration.
What would you serve?

Open faced turkey/swiss sandwiches on French bread (spread w/ margarine first), bake for 15 min to melt it all together. Chips on the side.
OR, homemade Petros (http://www.petros.com/information.php?info_id=12). Basically a base of Fritos, and then put chili, onions, lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese, and sour cream on top. (Do individual bowls: have everyone build their own.) YUM.
My quick go to is always sphagetti but since you are doing lasagna i dont suppose that would work. Umm what about some kind of crock pot(slow oven cook) meal like a roast. Something you could put in that morning and just be done with until you need it.
maybe a soup, stew, or chili in the slow cooker?
HOLY CRAZY WEEKEND, BATMAN!!!!!
You are a brave woman. Seriously. I admire you.
I would just make spaghetti with sauce and some garlic bread. So quick and easy and everybody loves it. :) To me it is different than lasagna so it is fine. Otherwise, burgers? Tacos? Hmmm. I'm having a brain freeze.
Good luck!
So glad to know I am not the only one suffering the dual-holiday overload!
Oh my word. I'd serve a map of the city for the nearest fast-food places. Ok, maybe that's drastic, but seriously, you are just as (if not more so) busier than I am, how do you keep getting roped into these situations?
I'm too late now, but I go crock pot all the way when I'm busy.
Happy Hanukkah!!
