Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are…
Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect Tomorrow.
One day I shall dig my nails into the earth,
or bury my face in my pillow,
or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky
and want, more than all the world, your return.

Save Some Bucks $$

So...Rebekah, thankfully, is attending college on a full-tuition scholarship.  That's a huge blessing for her and for our family, I have no idea how she would go to school without it.  Still, in a real eye-opener, we still need to come up with around $12,000 a year for room/board/books, etc.  As you can imagine, every chance we get to save money, we go for.

One way that she has found that can save significant amounts of money is to rent her college textbooks.  Utilizing companies like Campus Book Rentals.com, she can easily find the books she needs for her classes.  Delivery is fast and easy, returning is fast and easy, it saves money (a huge amount over buying new and a pretty significant amount even over buying used), it's truly a win-win for all of us.

When I first heard about renting textbooks, I admit I was skeptical.  Rebekah's had a chance to try it though and she finds it a great way to save money, and with us facing a $6000.00 deficit in funding college next year, every bit helps.

The opinions expressed are mine, as always, but Rebekah is receiving a discount on her books next quarter in exchange for me writing this post.

Wow, that's great. I would have totally done that for at least half my classes. I hope I would have picked the "right" half though--I have continued to use some of them! Still--such a smart way to go.

I wish they had that when I went to college. Books are CRAZY expensive. I couldn't believe it.

People are selling their books online now too. I told my hubby that he should sell all of his old law school books (they are just sitting on a shelf collecting dust anyway) and we could make a fortune! He has a TON of them. :)

All three of our girls got their first two years of college at a small all girls college in a Nevada Mo.. Cottey is a wonderful school where you live on campus, have a really great food service and the teacher-student is ratio is like 10-1 or less. The scolarships were great.

Renting text books sounds like a great idea.

Your tertiary education system is so different to ours. Most of the text books I needed at Uni could be borrowed from the library on a year-long loan. Some I chose to buy as I wanted to keep them for future reference.

I wish that during college I had the opportunity to rent books rather than buy them. I mean ... what the heck do you do with the books after the class ends? Sell them for 1/4 of their price? Ugh ...

This is awesome!!! And I'd do just about anything to get a reduced rate myself... :)
