We got very good news for my hubby today. He had skin cancer on the top of his head. I tell you this not to invade his privacy, but to let you know that it can happen and to be very, very careful. Mark wears sunscreen on his head--some of the time. Not as often as he should, definitely. Not as often as he will in the future either, trust me. He'll be at an increased risk to develop skin cancer for the rest of his life.
The type of cancer he had is not as dangerous as melanoma and not as innocuous as basil cell. We were lucky, they caught it early and got it all.
Thank you for your prayers. It was wonderful to feel supported and not alone.
Now, I wait to hopefully soon hear good news about my dad as well.
Wear your sunscreen. Nag your hubby to wear his. Slather the kids. It really is important.
I have 1 husband and 4 kids, 28, 20, 11 and 9...I'll be doing the mom thing forever, hence 4evermom.

Yes, we wear our sunscreen here in East Texas. We are outside too much not to. And when we do get a little sun we slather on the aloe. Love your blog and love following your family adventures.

that is great news! My dad had skin cancer on his nose. It scared me so bad that I slather it on everyone almost every hour! Glad your husband is healthy! :)

Glad they caught it early. Keep after him (and yourself and the kiddies). Skin cancer can be tricky. Holding your dad in my heart too!

Wow, I hate being so far behind in blog reading that I've missed out on important things, posts where people have asked for prayers. So glad to hear your hubby is ok (well except for his lungs now ... will be praying about that!) and they caught this cancer early and got it all.
