Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are…
Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect Tomorrow.
One day I shall dig my nails into the earth,
or bury my face in my pillow,
or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky
and want, more than all the world, your return.

Runaway

I appear to have completely run away from reality this summer.

I have vacationed, spent way too much money, said yes way too often, sanctioned way too much junk food, let my kids stay up way too late, cleaned way too little, and it's all been absolutely delicious.  I am dreading the bubble bursting and reality claiming it's pound of flesh.

Alas, that will be happening all too quickly.  I go back to work Friday.  Jacob and Julianna start school Wednesday.  Rebekah leaves two weeks from tomorrow.

Sometime soon, when my break with adulthood is over and reality reigns again, I'll be back.

I'm sorry I've been a neglectful friend.  I do miss you.  Truly.  I care what happens in your lives and I recognize that some of you would like to know what's going on in mine.  All I can say is I ask you for your patience and I thank you for your understanding while I continue enjoying what is truly one of the best summers of my life.

Be back soon.
xoxo

Now THAT is what summer is all about. That is how life should be lived. I am so jealous! I always start out with intentions of being a "yes" mom and a "fun" mom, but I get in my way. I say "GOOD FOR YOU!!!!"

Enjoy the rest of your summer!!!! :)

Don't interrupt a great summer on the internet's account! Go! Play! We'll be here, really! (Unless we're going and playing ourselves!)

This is going to sound really selfish, but I'm glad you haven't been blogging so much, too! Keeps me from having to catch up! :)

I'm SO GLAD you've been enjoying your summer!!! You deserve it. Keep enjoying, and my Google Reader will tell me when you're back. :)

You enjoy your break - we all need a vacation from 'real' life.

I have been very remiss in keeping up with my blog this summer. In reading you latest post, I could see that you posted pretty much what I was feeling. I start back to work on Monday, I will miss all the free time I have had and have totally enjoyed traveling, weddings, visiting my kids out of state. But like you it is time to face the real world and get busy again.
