The end of the school year is fast approaching. Faster even than I realized. Jacob and Julianna have a class with a great teacher that is ending Friday. This teacher means a lot to our family, the kids have her year in, year out for math and she is wonderful.
Julianna's classroom teacher is also wonderful. Jacob was lucky enough to have her as well and we will miss her dearly when she is no longer part of our lives.
Jacob's teacher is retiring after a long career teaching, my oldest two actually had her as well, though not for homeroom like Jacob did.
What all this means is that we've been lucky enough to spend this school year with three very special teachers and I'd like to do something special for them. Money is very tight for us right now though. My oil change yesterday ended up being a couple of hundred dollars. Nothing was wrong, thank goodness, but some routine maintenance that needed done and added up. Paying for prescriptions and other medical expenses on our practically-non-existent health insurance has been more of a challenge lately combined with the fact that I'm about to be out of work for 11 weeks. Anyway, it's all normal, it's all fine, but money is tight and I'm not feeling like I can go out and buy the type of teacher gifts I would like to, that I normally would.
Any wonderful ideas on what to do?
