Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are…
Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect Tomorrow.
One day I shall dig my nails into the earth,
or bury my face in my pillow,
or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky
and want, more than all the world, your return.

{ing} life...10/11/12

{thinking}  Still trying to figure out what we're going to do next weekend.  Something.  That's for sure.  Mark took Friday off, I have Friday off, the kids have Friday off.  That calls for something special, for sure.  Saturday's open as well (woohoo!) then Sunday Jacob has auditions for the Sunday School program, Jason is running his first marathon and Julianna has Nutcracker practice.  Back to busy, but that's okay.  I'm counting on Friday and Saturday being wonderful enough to make the busyness worth it.

{thankful} Thankful for so many things, mainly my life.  I'm so blessed with my family and I try really hard not to ever take it for granted.

{hoping}
  Jacob's away at camp, he'll be home tomorrow.  Where we live 6th graders go away to camp for three days.  I've missed him and I'm hoping he's had a wonderful time.  Can't wait to hear all about it when he's home tomorrow.

{overwhelming}
Christmas is how many days away?  It's overwhelming to me to think about it.  This may be the first year we truly don't start to shop until Thanksgiving.  That's not so bad.  I guess.  Just not how I normally like to do things.  More pressing however is that Julianna's birthday is three weeks from today.  I'm guessing I better hurry up and get on that!  She's turning 10 so we want to do everything we can to make it a birthday to remember.

{dreaming}
Dreaming of the weekend.  I've rearranged some things, flat our said no to some things, and carved out most of this weekend for just us.  We'll have a Halloween movie night and try to catch up on the many, many episodes of The Voice clogging up the DVR.  Sounds heavenly to me.

{reading}
  About to start Barefoot Season by Susan Mallery.  I love a good book!  Hope this is one.

{excited}
Tomorrow's Friday, Jacob's coming home, a couple of days of togetherness.  Excited by the potential of that.

{working}  I've worked hard this week on trying to clean my house.  It's not all done, it will always be a work in progress, but tonight I'm sitting in my (mostly) clean living room, our three bathrooms are done, laundry's caught up to a manageable level, my to-do list isn't too overwhelming.  I'm working on keeping up and it's a good feeling.

{praying}
Mark's getting his work mojo back.  Some good things have been happening lately.  I'm praying that continues.  It's wonderful to see him more himself.

{cooking}
The beef barley soup this week was definitely my favorite meal.  I made pumpernickel-onion rolls to go with it, the first time I've ever worked with pumpernickel flour.  They were really good.  I'm excited to make them again soon.  I'm making more and more of our bread and I really get a lot of satisfaction from it.  It fulfills a creative need in me and it's yummy.  Win-win!  I served the soup with a romaine-spinach salad w/thinly sliced pears and apples and toasted, salted walnuts.  Topped off with a maple-dijon vinaigrette it made for a delicious dinner!

Thanks for coming by.  I hope you've had a good week and that your weekend is full of wonderful things.

Life sounds good for you right now. Less stressful, I hope anyway.
